The Perfect Place for our Family Reunion

This was the perfect place for our family reunion! From grandparents to grandchildren and everyone in between it met every need. Dorinda and Dennis were outstanding hosts, providing supplies and information. The kids had a great time exploring the creek and beautiful grounds, they even forgot about their phones and iPads!

The lodge is sensational and had plenty of room for all 14 of us, plus there is a creekside cottage that provides a bit of respite and serenity. All of this just a few minutes from downtown Missoula and outdoor adventures. We all loved our week at the lodge and made many great memories!!!  Mike D. – July 31,2023

Cozy – Clean – and Welcoming
As a grief center, we seek copacetic healing spaces to host retreats. Butler Creek Lodge never disappoints. Dorinda and Dennis have gone out of their way to create a cozy, clean, welcoming space in an absolutely stunning settings (and oh, did we mention how comfortable the beds and bedding were?! Amazing)
We enjoyed having a space to host activities in the gazebo near the creek, making family style meals in the big kitchen, and gathering around the fire pit on the deck at the end of each day. Dorinda and Dennis are welcoming hosts who respect the privacy of guests, while still being available if needed. We will continue to return time and time again. Tamarack Grief Resource Center.

Great place to stay. The lodge was spacious and welcoming! Plenty of sleeping options. Some food supplies were provided, which we thought was a nice touch. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner there for our family and had all of the cookware and utensils we needed at our fingertips! Coffee was ready to go when we arrived; all we had to do was puch the button! The hostess gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly. Great place to get together with your whole family!

Butler Creek Lodge is the place to stay when visiting Missoula MT. Dorinda and Dennis think of everything and are two of the nicest people I have met. The place was relaxing and a perfect location to explore Missoula and make a day trip to Glacier National Park. We stayed in the suite which was perfect for my Mom and I. I would love to come back with a bigger group and stay in the lodge! Check it out…you won’t be disappointed.

Family Loves Butler Creek
Our stay at the lodge was wonderful for our family of seven. The lodge has a great rustic cabin feel to it, and is very well decorated and appointed. The extensive yard and natural views around the lodge are beautiful and soothing. The background gurgle of Butler Creek is a soothing plus. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. They set out yard games for us and had bkfst items stocked. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that we had what we needed. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Everything about our experience at the Butler Creek Lodge was magical. Dorinda and Dennis were amazing hosts and helped make our wedding stress-less and enjoyable. With the lodge location just outside
of Missoula, it was easy to make last minute trips to the store but also provided the middle-of-nowhere, relaxing, forest experience. The weather was perfect even though it was still pretty hot in town. Every guest at our wedding commented on how perfect the venue is for a wedding. We had a perfect wedding and being at the Butler Creek Lodge was the icing on the cake.

The home was very clean, the hosts were very accommodating, and the furnishings very comfortable. Close to everything in Missoula, but it feel very secluded and private. My wife and I got married here in Mid September. An absolutely breathtaking venue and a wonderful place for our wedding party to stay. We could not have pictured a more gorgeous scene in our wildest dreams. Everyone, including our vendors, was asking how in the world we found this gem. Our photographer was practically drooling over the endless picturesque backdrops. Dennis and Dorinda were extremely helpful every step of the way. We could not have asked for anything better.

Perfect for a Montana Wedding
We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our August 2020 wedding. Dorinda was quick to respond when we first inquired about touring the venue. After just stepping foot on the lawn, we knew the Butler Creek Lodge was where we wanted to get married. The lodge is the perfect space for a “Montana Wedding”. The outdoor space is rustic and woodsy, but still elegant enough for a wedding. The lodge itself was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well equipped to host brunch and day-of-snacking. Our entire wedding party plus family stayed Friday and Saturday night and we all had a fantastic time. We couldn’t believe how affordable it was either! Dorinda was so accommodating, helpful, and flexible. I would absolutely recommend the Butler Creek Lodge for your wedding or less formal getaway. 5 Stars!

Private lodge. Park like grounds. 15 minutes to downtown
This is a great modern house with all the upgrades. Our family gathered for a Thanksgiving reunion. The kitchen and living areas are great, Bedrooms and baths have been upgraded to top of the line. We were fortunate to find this castle in the pines.

It is Truly Breath-Taking Property
We had our wedding at Butler Creek Lodge in June. It is truly breathtaking property and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect setting for the biggest day of our lives. Dorinda and Dennis are the kindest hosts you could imagine. They made us feel very welcome and it was truly a pleasure to get to know them over the course of the weekend. We’re extremely grateful we were able to celebrate our marriage in such a beautiful place. This is Montana at its finest. We’re already talking about booking the lodge for our anniversary. Our every wish fulfilled at Butler Creek Lodge
Our family of 12 had plenty of room and our every wish fulfilled at Butler Creek Lodge. Dorinda and Dennis are those rare hosts who really want you to be as comfortable as they are! From coffee and muffins for 1st mornings’ breakfast to DVD’s for the kids to beautifully landscaped grounds with comfy chairs to enjoy the sunsets, this is a lovely home in every way. This is a super well-supplied kitchen! It is convenient to downtown Missoula yet private and quiet in typical Montana country.

Graduation Celebration at Butler Creek Lodge
Wow! What a find! We celebrated our daughters college graduation from the University of Montana and our entire family stayed at the lodge. Dorinda and Dennis are the most wonderful hosts and we wished we could have stayed longer. We had 16 guests and also had additional guests for the Grad Party. Perfect for this occasion and we did not have to stay in hotels separate from one another and did not have eat out at every meal. There was nothing we wanted or needed as the lodge and hosts had it ALL! I want to have an event in Missoula just so we can go back. And the price was cheaper than a hotel!

It feels like its own little world, quiet and peaceful
My husband and I got married at Butler Creek Lodge in August 2018. I fell in love with the venue the moment we arrived to tour it and continued to fall more and more in love every time we went back to take measurements, plan the layout etc. It was the most perfect venue for our little enchanted forest wedding. Dorinda was such a joy to work with and the venue itself is stunning. The lodge was stunning and rustic and welcoming and the perfect place to house our wedding party and their spouses.

The grounds are a wonderful, green and serene location and once you’re there you’d have no idea you’re just a few miles out of town. It feels like its own little world, quiet and peaceful. Dorinda also allowed us to take our engagement photos there the winter before our wedding. I fully intend to rent out the lodge again for something in the future…not sure what but the second I have another need to rent out a large space like that, Dorinda will be my first call! I loved the soft, beautifully green lawns and the stunning lodge kitchen with large windows looking over the grounds. The beds were so perfectly soft and downright indulgent. One of the best nights of sleep I’ve had!

The other wonderful thing about renting the lodge was that Dorinda was so supportive of all our decoration ideas and of not forcing us to call it a night before we were ready to stop celebrating our nuptials! We had our rehearsal dinner there the night before the wedding, the ceremony on the lower-most lawn and the reception through all 3 lawns. Thank you Dorinda for making our wedding day the perfect fairy tale I’d hoped it would be!

A friend and I booked Butler Creek Lodge for the first 4 nights of our Montana fly fishing trip. The owner’s sister Dorinda, and her husband Dennis have recently taken over management of the Lodge and are doing a fantastic job!

The Lodge was full and so we were accommodated in a self-contained apartment within the main house. The apartment was ideal for our needs, consisting of 2 bedrooms, shower room, kitchen and living area; and also had a covered patio area looking out over the gardens.

The gardens are well looked after and very peaceful, and you can find yourself sharing your coffee with a couple of grazing deer.  Dorinda and Dennis were a lovely couple who couldn’t do enough for you, without making you feel as if you were being crowded or watched. The breakfasts were superb and the choice extensive.

I feel the Lodge was perfectly located. Only 10 minutes from the airport, but well away from the flight path so the tranquility was not affected. Only 10-15 minutes from downtown Missoula, and located about halfway between two of the main National Parks, Yellowstone and Glacier.

If you are a fisherman then you’re in for a treat! The Bitterroot, Clark Fork, Rock Creek and our favorite, the Blackfoot river are all only a short drive away, We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked in for the last 3 nights of our 2-week fly drive fishing tour as we couldn’t leave without fishing the Blackfoot one last time. Coming back to Butler Creek was much like coming home. Highly recommended
